Idle Doodle: California hell

The week prior to this one, California had experienced a heat wave I've never seen before. I remember seeing temperatures over 100 degrees for a day or two, but not constant 110 degree temperatures for a whole week.

This has prompted calls from the government and its utility arm to spam messages urging people to save electricity.

The most insulting one was on an electric billboard above a freeway that typically posts estimated travel times to certain cities, that said "Extreme heat. Conserve energy by shutting off power 4-9pm. Stay cool!"

Thanks, assholes. Turn off your AC and stay cool!

Maybe get that hamster in your head moving to a brisk walk and approve some nuclear power plant projects.

Or we'll just mandate electric cars by 2035 and create some real blackouts. Now you can't use your AC and you can't go on a drive to the coast to cool off.
